Hokuspokus, a distinguished representative of the Arab Partbred Sports Horses, was licensed and fully performance tested by the German ZSAA, the "Breeding Association of Sport Horses of Arab descent," which is fully approved by the German Riding Federation (FN).
In 2008, Hokuspokus was graded as champion in the category of "Arabic Partbred Type German Riding Horse," a designation later modified by the breeding association to "German Noble Blood Horse."
The aim of this class is to enhance German breeding programs by focusing on creating a refined, athletic, and mentally robust sport horse. This is achieved through the intentional incorporation of thoroughbred, Arabian, and Trakehner blood into warmblood breeding populations.
Arabian horses have historically been integral to warmblood breeding programs, contributing valuable traits such as endurance, strength, courage, health, and trainability. A prime example of this integration is seen in Trakehner horses, which consistently utilized Arabian horses to improve their original breed while adding refinement without sacrificing substance. A true German Noble Blood Horse is designed to improve conformation and silhouette, lengthen important lines (such as neck, shoulder, and leg), and maintain soundness in bones and joints. A genuine nobleblood horse possesses a light appearance, features dry and expressive heads, clean limbs, and exhibits an aristocratic demeanor, making them stand out in both hand and under saddle.
German breeding programs emphasize the use of nobleblood to enhance:
- Elastic, uphill movement for dressage
- Quick reflexes and technique for jumping
- Overall efficiency, balance, and rideability.
Functional beauty is a key focus, where form directly supports performance. Furthermore, these horses are selected to improve rideability and character, reflecting attributes such as willingness to work with the rider, intelligence, trainability, sensitivity combined with mental stability, ensuring that nobleblood enhances the mind without causing overexcitement.
Breeders utilizing nobleblood strive to reinforce cardiovascular capacity, tendon and ligament quality, and longevity under sport workloads, which is particularly crucial for those seeking horses capable of competing at higher levels.
For the breeding book titled "German Noble Blood Horse," only warmblood and other horse types that are registered as "Type German Riding Horse" are permitted, alongside other breeds approved by the ZSAA (www.zsaa.org).
Horses registered in this breeding book can participate in prestigious events such as the German Bundeschampionate (BCH) and are fully recognized for use in other German warmblood associations including Oldenburg, Hanoverian, Westphalian, and DSP.
