Hokuspokus will add longevity, speed, nobility and quality to any breeding program. His bloodlines are an amalgamation of old performance bloodlines that are rare find in Western Europe today. His ancestors have played key roles in equine and world history - read on about the versatility of his ancestors, often combining speed with jumping and endurance whilst remaining in good health over the years. He can be considered as a fresh and strong choice to complement the -for many breeders - better known western European bloodlines, especially when you are interested in adding noble bloodlines below to your breeding program.
Hokuspokus' ancestors can be traced back to many famous Trakehner names such as Tempelhüter, the foundation stallion of the Trakehner main stud, Priboj, the foundation stallion of the Russian Tersk Stud, as well as has a significant stamp from the Kinsky bloodlines and Hannovarian thoroughbred bloodlines with Alderman I and Adeptus.
Hokuspokus’ Sire Brioni was born at the prestigious Trakehner stud Schralling in Bavaria, Germany. He has been successful in dressage, show jumping and eventing. Brioni has been a winner of the Trakehner (Nurmi-performance) Test in 2005 with best marks in walk, trot and canter, cross-country, willingness to perform and rideability. He also qualified for the federal BCH. The Trakehner-Rhineland wrote: “a clear type and refiner of best breed, who is a successful symbiosis of a Trakehner and Arab. He pleased the audience through his gaits, up-hill movement, charm and charisma.”
Hokuspokus' grand sire on his fathers side was EH Friedensfürst, an elegant and big-framed Trakehner Elite stallion. The very tall chestnut stallion passed an excellent performance test (126,99 overall and 132,16 for rideability). He produced licensed sons, state premium mares and highly priced auction horses. His father Rondo was one of the best Trakehner performance stallions of all times, who produced offspring successful in grand prix dressage as well as showjumping.
Friedensfürst was already winning at 4th level dressage, when he was given to Vorwerk stud, home of Rubinstein, where Nicole Uphoff continued his training and very quickly showed him at PSG level and beyond. They won the reserve title at the Nürnberg Burgpokal and after Nicole had left Vorwerk, American rider Lisa Wilcox took Friedensfürst to Grand Prix. Recognized as one of the most talented German dressage horses in recent times, Friedensfürst was also an excellent show jumper and had a true dual predisposition for dressage and jumping.
Friedensfürst left only two licensed stallions: the eventer Brioni, (Hokuspokus sire) and Lücke, who was also very successful in show jumping.

Hokuspokus‘ mother Hillary is a premium and elite German warmblood mare, harmoniously built with excellent three paces and great fertility and robust health. She produced three graded stallions, three state premium mares and her other six (!) foals have also become successful sport horses competing on intermediate and higher levels. She was rewarded entry to the highest main stud books in the ZfdP as well as German Sporthorse and has a rare entry in the performance stud book D of the FN. The high-blooded mare combines Kinsky-, Thoroughbred and Achal-Teke blood.
Her motherly grandfather Almhirt Tynsky put the finishing touches on her bloodlines with Hannovarian influence of Alderman I and Adeptus.
Hokuspokus' grand mother, is a VPrSt (premium mare) of the Trakehner Breeding Association as well as ZfdP. She produced two licensed stallions and her progeny competed up to CIC*** level. Her mothers roots come from the valuable english Crabbet-line (Old English Arab). Her grandmother Krushina was elite mare and a successful distance horse and produced best prodigy. The mother Adyca ox was a premium as well as a stunning looking mare who was sold for 25,000 DM as weaned foal. Her roots from her sire's side come from the Russian Tersk Stud with her father Bagdad, who was born and bred by the Tersk Stud and passed proven performance bloodlines to his progeny. Bagheerah also features Arax ox twice in her pedigree, who is a descendent of the Weller main bloodlines of Balractar, who founded the most famous stallion line in Tersk.
Her mother Hennessy Kinsky stems from the Kinsky elite staIlion Almhirt Týnský (169 cm) who was a successful show jumper, known in Germany under the name “Controversy” and was successful at M level (1.40 m) and one of the most popular sires in recent Kinsky breeding.
He was known for his willingness to work and kind temperament. His father Garut Humburský was – according to the FN yearbook – in his time the most successful palomino warmblood stallion in horse sport.
Garut Humbursky is going back to the legendary buckskin-colored Achal-Teke Absent. This stallion is probably the most famous and most unusual Akhal-Teke, who - after a successful racing career - won gold and bronze with 82.4% in dressage at 3 Olympic Games under 2 different riders (Sergej Filatov and Ivan Kalita), became the Russian championship winner and won in 1968 the title of "Sporting Horse of the World" (watch this video by Absent, who, despite the flying newspaper between his legs, continued his piaffe undeterred).
The Achal-Teke breed is famous for their great stamina, intelligence, speed, agility and bravery - all characteristics that are today sought after in all rounders, eventers and endurance horses.
Whilst they can appear light of bone, like the Arabs, their bones are incredibly dense, designed to cover hard ground at high speed.
Absent descended from an equally unusual father; the only 15.2 hh (157 cm) tall gray stallion Arab. He started off with a successful racing career until he took part in the never repeated endurance ride from Ashkhabad to Moscow over 2610 miles (4200 km) in just 84 days at the age of 5 years (50 miles every day). Fresh and powerful, Arab then set the Soviet high jump record of 7 feet 2.22 inches (2.19 m) at the advanced age of 16, having previously won the USSR Cup.
Arab was also the leading horse in the WW2 victory parade ridden by Marshall Zhukov who defended Stalingrad, given to him by Stalin. Zhukov rode Arab on the Red Square in Moscow on the 24. June 1945 where he received the official WW2 capitulation of the German Army. See here https://youtu.be/VzIBM7xmP3E for the short historic video) as well as below.
Arab is the first horse in this video ridden by Marshall Zhukov, who defended Stalingrad.
Hokuspokus is believed to be one of the rare few heirs of the great performance bloodlines of the Arab - Absent line in western sport horse breeding.
